The Road From Central African Republic To South Sudan (Bangui To Obo To Juba)

This is one of our most adventurous tours we offer in the Central African Republic. For this expedition we will go all the way from the capital Bangui on the Ubangi River to the town of Obo. We will explore the village along the river and visit the pygmy tribes. We will also make a stop in Gbadolite in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where we will visit the decaying palaces from Mobutu, slowly being absorbed by the jungle.

Our boat will cross next to vast national parks and reserves rich in rainforest and wildlife such as the Western Bomu Wildlife Reserve and the Eastern Bomu Wildlife Reserve and you have the possibility to add a safari to Bandingilo National Park in South-Sudan to your travel. We will switch our boat for a 4×4 in the town of Obo and will then have a transfer to Bamboli, the last village before the border between the Central African Republic and Sudan. We will assist you with the formalities at the immigration at the border post with Sudan and continue to Ri Yubu and stay on the Sudan Side this night. The day after we’ll drive all the way to Tambura to Yambio to Maridi to Kotobi to Juba with our 4×4, Toyota LandCruiser or similar.

For the boat transfer from Bangui to Obo you will go on our brand new well-maintained speedboat together with the captain, his assistant and our guide. We can provide camping material and we will enjoy simple local meals on the way. There is no electricity or running water throughout this whole tour until we are in Juba. Please, know that this is a very adventurous tour which is very challenging to please adjust your expectations accordingly. Make sure you have a few buffer days in Juba in case of any holdups on the way. We are not responsible for you missing your flight due to bad planning.
