On the Ubangi River:

The Oubangui (also written Ubangi) is a river in Africa, and a major tributary of the Congo River in Central Africa. It flows west, forming the border between the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Oubangui takes its name from the confluence of the Mbomou and Uele rivers, flows west for 350 km, then south-west where it passes Bangui, and heads south for 500 km to join the river Congo on the right bank.

From its beginning until 100 km after Bangui, the river acts as a border between the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Then it forms the border between the DRC and the Republic of Congo until it flows into the Congo.

It is navigable downstream and as far as Bangui, and vessels (Ferries and pushed barges) shuttle from Kisangani and Brazzaville

The length of the Oubangui from the confluence of the Mbomou and Uele rivers is 1,120 km. However, together with the Uele, its left source, the Oubangui is 2,272 km long.
